Introduction

The Assam Don Bosco University is a project of the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) executed by Don Bosco Society, Azara, Guwahati. The 'Salesians of Don Bosco' are a Catholic Order, who've dedicated themselves to working with young men and women across the world, providing access to education and teaching in areas and regions that need them. Their presence and works in 132 countries, catering to over nine million young people worldwide, has won them appreciation and recognition from both the Society and Governments across the World.

For their work in India, the Salesians of Don Bosco have been recognized by the Government of India as the single largest provider of technical education in India, second only to the Government. Internationally, the Salesians of Don Bosco have earned the honour of being nominated as 'Advisors to the United Nations'

With 16 Universities and hundreds of Colleges and Institutions across virtually every Continent, the Don Bosco University represents a history that began with the establishment of the first School for poor children in Italy, in the year 1875.

Accreditation & Recognition

Assam Don Bosco University is a State University in the private sector established through the Assam Don Bosco University Act, 2009 on 9th January 2009 created under Assam Private Universities Act 2007 in the State of Assam, India. The University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), India, the Distance Education Council (DEC), India and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), India.
